If you want to extend your stay a little, there is no shortage of things to do in and around Savières.
1. Troyes City Centre

The Troyes city centre is one of the best preserved medieval quarters in France and is well worth a visit. La Ruelle des Chats is a must see, and has many nice restaurants. We recommend Chez Felix https://www.chez-felix.fr/en/. If you want something special, the Auberge de Saint Maure is a very beautiful restaurant and is only a 12 minute drive from the city centre.
2. Fontainebleau Forest

The Fontainebleau forest is only 1h30 drive from Troyes. For climbers, it needs no introduction! But it is also a great place for hiking, with a very beautiful and surprising landscape. For a long hike we recommend the “Circuit des 25 bosses” (link). It is also easy to only do part of this walk, as there are crossing path everywhere in the forest that allow for a shorter loop. For a shorter walk check-out the Gorges de Franchard (link).
3. Lac de Foret Orient

If you fancy swimming/a beach visit, you can drive to the “Lac de la Foret d’Orient” (or, if you are brave enough, you can cycle the cycle lane that goes all the way there from Troyes/Savieres along the Seine). There is a smaller and quieter beach in Lusigny and a larger one in Geraudot. It is also nice to walk in the forest around the lake.
4. Nigloland

Nigloland https://www.nigloland.com/, is a very fun theme park, sitting in the middle of the forest. It is great for kids but also has rides for all ages, and is less than an hour drive away from Troyes. Disneyland Paris is also a little under 2 hours away from Troyes!
5. Reims

Reims is the capital city of champagne making and only a 1 hour drive from Troyes. You can visit the famous Notre-Dame de Reims Cathedral, and many of the champagne houses. We particularly recommend the Vranken-Pommery (pictured above) (https://www.vrankenpommery.com/visites/en), which sometimes hosts modern art exhibitions.
